Janice Gage -
District Governor Elect - Rotary International (2008-2009)
 Janice
Gage is a native Californian residing in Placer County for the
past 29 years. Janice spent 17 years working as a Senior
Management Analyst in the Placer County Executive Office -
primarily in the area of Land Use, Public Safety, Criminal
Justice and Health and Human Services. She earned an Accounting
Degree with honors from Sierra Community College and a Bachelor
of Public Administration Degree from the University of San
Francisco. She also holds a Certificate in Land Use and
Environmental Planning from the University of California, Davis.
Janice joined the 83-year old Auburn Rotary Club in 1997 and
was elected to serve as the first woman president in 2003.
Janice was Assistant Governor from 2005-2007 and has been
nominated District 5190 Governor for 2009-2010. She is active at
the District level serving as District Conference Chair in 2005
and as District Foundation Committee Paul Harris Society Chair
from 2006-2008. Janice has traveled to Mexico for three years to
volunteer her time at dual international projects - the Thousand
Smiles Clinic in Ensenada and the Casa Hogar orphanage matching
grant in Buena Vista. Janice received the Four Avenues of
Service Award in 2006 and District 5190 Foundation Service Award
in 2007. Janice is a charter member of the District 5190 Paul
Harris Society, a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of
The Rotary Foundation Bequest Society.
Janice is well known for her volunteer service to the community
of Auburn, involvement as a Placer County Juvenile Justice
Commissioner, and Chairman and long-term member of the Sierra
College Accounting Advisory Committee. She currently serves on
the Board of Directors for the Mercy Retreat Center in Auburn
and also Placer County Child Advocates (children at risk) Board
of Directors.
Janice resides in Loomis, California and cherishes family
get-togethers with her three sons and daughters-in-law and six
grandchildren. |
