The
Rotary Academy is a comprehensive one-year study program
that offers the fundamentals that lie at the heart of the
Rotary movement. The ten lesson correspondence course
provides information on the operation that has made Rotary
so successful over the past 100 years.
The ten lessons include the History of Rotary
International, the Organization and Structure of Rotary
International, Club Service-Classification and Membership,
Club Service-Administration, Vocational Service, Community
Service, International Service, the Rotary Foundation,
District Policies and Guidelines, and a Rotary essay.
Each of the lessons is by a well-informed, experienced
Rotarian. The Academy committee is made up of Steve Bilyeu,
PCP, Chairman; Bob Hartsfield, PDG, Student Coordinator; Vic
Slaughter, PDG, Technical Coordinator and committee members
Sue Welch, PCP, and Norman Olsen, PDG.
The Academy courses will be helpful to all Rotarians, but
especially to those who aspire to leadership positions in
their club or the district.
The 2009-2010 Academy course will be using email and SKYPE®
to correspond between students and instructors. Provisions
can be made for students who do not use email by arrangement
with Chairman, Steve Bilyeu.
The registration fee is $50.00.
Registration forms for 2009-2010 are now being accepted.
